FFA Activities for the Week of Aug. 30 through Sept. 4

- Monday Aug. 31, we will have our first Mill Clean Up of the year. Students can meet at the ag room afterschool then walk down to the Licking Mill as a group or drive down there. This is a great community service opportunity for members and last about 1-2 hours each Monday.

- Tuesday Sept. 1 starting at 6 PM in the Ag Room is the FFA Ice Cream Social. All members and their families are invited to this event to meet the officers, learn more about FFA, and socialize with fellow members while enjoying some ice cream.

- Thursday Sept. 3, is the first Trapshooting practice starting at 4 pm at Big Piney on Hwy B, between Raymondville and Houston. Reminder students cannot practice until they have turned in a trapshooting handbook signed by both the student and parent.

- Friday Sept. 4, our annual Fruit & Meat Fundraiser will begin. Students will receive their order forms and instructions during class.

Thanks to our Food Service Director, Mrs. Samie Lewis, for her work to ensure this benefit is available to our students and their families. ⚫️Thank you to our kitchen staff for their dedication to serving our students breakfast and lunch every single day of the school year. We appreciate you, Ladies! 🟠 You can read more about the CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) that makes our no cost breakfast and lunch student meals possible below.   PUBLIC RELEASE SY 2026-2027 Community Eligibility Provision The Licking R-8 School District is participating in a Free Breakfast and Lunch Program for the current school year, 2026-2027. This alternative is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). All students enrolled at this school may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge. Studies have shown that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing school meals to all children at no charge, we are hoping to create a better learning environment for our students. The school breakfast and lunch that we serve follows U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. The Free Breakfast and Lunch Program cannot succeed without your support. Please encourage your children to participate in the school meal programs. If your children attend Licking Schools, breakfast and lunch will be available to them at no charge.
