📚Our preschoolers enjoyed storytime this week with two of their favorite people, School Resource Officer Bobby Duncan and Elementary Principal Brian Barry. Thank you for taking the time to read to our youngest Wildcats, Officer Bobby and Mr. Barry!

💻⌨️💵On Monday February 9, 2026, FBLA Members attended the twice-rescheduled-for-snow District 14 Conference at Hartville. After a day of events, time keeping, workshops, and performances, they attended the Awards Ceremony and earned 13 total medals from online testing and performances! Each year presents its challenges, especially weather, but we have some pretty awesome tech and business minded kids who are intelligent, resilient, and committed! We will test for State in March and participate in State Leadership Conference April 12-14 in Springfield, MO. We have at least 5 students in 7 tests advancing to State Competition but will add more later. Those advancing to State Level Competition as we know now are:

🌟🎉February is Career and Technical Education Month. Each of our Career and Technical Education organizations are celebrated throughout the month of February. This week happens to be FBLA Week with the following National celebrations...

Service Sunday: Kick off the week with a community service project or charity fundraiser.

Make Your Mark Monday: Wear FBLA apparel, share personal FBLA stories, or host a testimonial recording party.

CTE/Career Tuesday: Host an alumni panel, career day, or a networking event with local business leaders.

Wednesday (National President's Forum): Participate in national virtual events, watch parties, or trivia nights.

Thankful Thursday: Send appreciation notes or create a video for advisers, teachers, and school administrators.

Fundraising/Fun Friday: Host a themed party, such as an ice cream social or bowling night, and raise money for the National Leadership Conference (NLC) scholarship.

Success Saturday: Highlight chapter achievements and showcase week-long activities on social media using #FBLAWeek.

⚫️The Licking R-VIII School District has the following surplus equipment for sale: 2013 Bluebird All-American School Bus. Approximately 130,000 miles. The bus does not run. The deadline for accepting bids will be noon (12:00pm) on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Reserve is set at 1,000. 🟠Sealed bids should be submitted to the Office of the Superintendent, 135 College Avenue, Licking, Missouri, 65542. The sealed bids will be opened at the board meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026. Call the Superintendent's Office at 573-674-2911 with inquiries regarding the surplus bus.

📣 MSHSAA Dead Period Notice The Licking R-VIII School District will observe the MSHSAA Dead Period from 🗓 Saturday, August 1 through Sunday, August 9 During this time, no school-sponsored practices, workouts, camps, or activities may be held for student-athletes. This is an important time for our athletes to rest, recharge, and spend time with family before fall sports begin. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in following MSHSAA guidelines as we prepare for a great upcoming Fall season!
