📚 Today was "Wacky Wednesday" for our Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Week! We were joined by Ms. Melissa Miller, Mrs. Peggy Link, and Mrs. Louise Beasley Ms. Miller from the High School Library read a story to Ms. Cook's kindergarten class. Mrs. Link, High School Librarian, read aloud to Ms. McLeod's first grade class. Mrs. Beasley from Texas County Library read a story to Mrs. Coffey's fourth grade class. Mrs. Terrill's third grade class and Carlos Aguilar-Knoll from kindergarten won prizes this morning! Tomorrow we will celebrate "Green Eggs and Ham" Day by wearing green! 💚

Licking students participated in the statewide Tornado Drill today be practicing our storm preparedness protocols. Students did an excellent job of quickly moving to their safe areas and getting into position! ⛈️

📚 Today is "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" Day for our Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Week! We were joined by Mrs. Tammy Sullins, Ms. Karen Miller, Dr. Jarad Rinne, and Mr. Rawly Gorman. Mrs. Sullins from My Little Cupcake read a story to Mrs. Taylor's kindergarten class. We thank you for donating a copy of "Kneading a Winning Idea" to our elementary library! Ms. Miller, high school custodian and bus driver, read aloud to Mrs. Hale and Ms. Knarr's first grade class. Dr. Rinne, high school principal, read a story to Mrs. Heithold's third grade class. Our School Board President, Mr. Rawly Gorman from Town & Country Bank read aloud to Ms. Creek's third grade class. Mrs. Ichord's special education class and Abbie Morris from sixth grade won prizes this morning! Tomorrow we will celebrate "Wacky Wednesday" with wacky hair and clothes! 🤪🧡🖤

Licking Elementary students went out to send off one of our own as she travels with her family to Disney World with Make-A-Wish. #WildcatPride🧡🖤

Last Wednesday, Feb. 28, LHS Art Club students were able to tour the St. Louis Art Museum.  It was a great way to wrap up a fun and successful year of Art Club.  Members enjoyed taking in many great and famous masterpieces.  Students mentioned some of the most memorable, including the Egyptian Wing, Claude Monet's Water Lilies and other Impressionist paintings, and the European Art Collection of Arms and Armor.  This was a fun group of students to work with this year! ~Mrs. Leah Sullins

Mr. Stone from Progressive Ozark Bank read aloud to Mrs. Keller's fourth grade class. Ms. Cook's kindergarten class and Sawyer Nelson from second grade won prizes this morning! The first post season awards were announced recently. Allie Hock and Hannah Medlock were named KJEL Area All Stars. This is Hannah's 2nd consecutive year being selected to the KJEL All Stars. Congrats to both girls!

Civil War Students Re-fight Bull Run Civil War students re-fight the Battle of Bull Run using a computerized strategy game. Each student commanded at least 2 brigades and one student was in overall command for each side. After a hard fought battle, the Confederacy emerged victorious scoring 2,354 points to the Union 1,489. The Confederates suffered 4,176 casualties while inflicting 4,777 casualties on their Union foes, turning back the Union advance on Richmond.

📚 This morning, Licking Elementary was honored to host soldiers from Fort Leonard Wood to kick off our Dr. Seuss/Read Across America celebration! Soldiers visited our PreK through 3rd grade classrooms to read a story and interact with students. Joining us today was Sergeant First Class Lynda Cooke, Staff Sergeant Richard Dial, and Staff Sergeant Allen Dement. We thank these individuals for their service to our country and for spending time with our students today! ❤️🤍💙

🎨These wonderfully talented art students have been working on their Paper Mache with Cardboard Armature projects. Each student is creating a unique piece of art using this technique. Stay tuned for their finished products!🎨
