⭐️🚌Total Fleet Excellence🚌⭐️
🚌We are so PROUD of our Licking R-8 Transportation Team for earning the Total Fleet Excellence Award from
the Missouri State Highway Patrol for
the second year in a row!
🚌Transportation Director Tony Huff and Bus Fleet Mechanic Toby Backues accepted the award at the state transportation conference in July. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our entire team of drivers who safely transport our students to and from school each day school is in session.
🚌Our buses collectively travel approximately 1,700 miles each school day over a combination of both paved and gravel roads, with gravel roads making up over half of the roads covered.
🚌It takes great effort to maintain a safe and reliable bus fleet like ours and we are very thankful of the efforts of our transportation team!

August 1, 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians of Incoming Sixth Grade Students,
In the Sixth Grade, your child will have the opportunity to begin instrumental music classes with the
Junior High School Band class. Mrs. Briana Link is our High School Music Director and classes are held in
the High School Music Room. Students will begin Band Classes after school begins in August.
Learning to play an instrument is an exciting opportunity and we are pleased that Mrs. Link invites our
sixth-grade students to join the Junior High Band classes. Band students walk between the elementary campus to the secondary campus to attend class. In case of rain or bad weather, a bus will transport students to the High School Music Room. Responsible and respectful behavior is always expected of sixth-grade band students, including while they are walking or riding the bus to and from class.
For instruments, students will need to either rent to own an instrument from Palen Music Center or purchase one on their own. There will be a Palen Music Night at the band room in September for
parents and students to attend to learn more about renting to own. Students will even get their
instruments that evening! More information will be sent out once school starts and once we have
completed instrument testing for each student that signs up for band.
If your child is interested in learning to play an instrument and would like to attend Junior High Band
classes in sixth grade, please call the Elementary Office at (573) 674-3211. When calling, please give
your child’s name and what instrument they are interested in learning to play.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brian Barry
Licking Elementary Principal

They will come in an envelope addressed to your child(ren) from the Missouri Department of Social Services.
Please call the Missouri Department of Social Services at 855-373-4636 if you have any questions about your child(ren)'s P-EBT benefits.
These cards are not coming from the Licking R-8 School District and we are unable to access any information regarding specific questions about when your child(ren)'s card may arrive, etc.
