school lunch

April 12, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Seamless Summer Option for free school breakfasts and lunches will expire at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. This program has paid for all school meals for our students since August 2020. While families have benefitted greatly from this program, it has, unfortunately, come to an end.

Beginning in August 2022, school meal prices will go back into effect for students in grades K-12. Student breakfasts will be $1.25, and school lunches will be $2.42. Extra milks will still be $0.30, and adult meals will increase to $4.15. Please be mindful of this increase in your household budget as the new school year approaches.

Additionally, it is important to our school district for families that meet the requirements for the Free & Reduced Lunch program to submit their applications. These applications will be sent home in family folders during Open House. Not only is the program beneficial for families, but many federal and state programs also use school district free and reduced meal rates as a qualifying factor for grant funding. Many times, our school district misses out on these opportunities because of applications that have not been submitted.

If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Superintendent’s Office at  (573) 674-2911.

Sincerely,

Cristina Wright, Superintendent

Licking R-VIII School District
