LICKING pulls off 1ST PLACE SWEEP! Congratulations to all the students who competed Monday in the Frisco League Math Contest! Licking came out on top in the nine-school Frisco League Math Contest in BOTH the Elementary School category AND the High School category. Competing in the 7th Grade division were Konnor McKee, Izzi Oaks, and Macayla Hackman, with Izzi winning 1st place gold and Konnor winning 2nd place silver. In 8th Grade, Randall Hock won 1st place gold, Landen Hock won 2nd place silver, and Connor McLeod placed 7th. In 8th Grade Algebra 1 Krysta Joyner, Dale Roberts, and Gabe Buell competed with Krysta placing 7th and Dale placing 10th.

Dante Wade, Nevaeh Neal, and Jason Wallace competed in the high school Algebra 1 division with Dante winning 3rd place bronze, Nevaeh placing 5th, and Jayson placing 6th. In the Geometry category, Isaac Haden, Kelly Lewis, and Abby Cole all competed with Isaac winning 1st place gold and Abby placing 8th. Tyler Chambers and Helen Johnson competed in the Algebra 2 fracas and Tyler seized 2nd place silver. Paige Rollins secured a 7th place finish in the infamously arcane Trigonometry and Logarithms battle of wits. And concluding their senior years with 1st place gold and 2nd place silver were Kevin Kaufman and Skylor Wilson in the blood-spattered Free-for-All melee.

Wow! What a night! To all of our student competitors, the Licking R-8 Mathematics faculty would like to sincerely and augustly say, “You kids rock!” We would also like to express our appreciation to all the teachers, support staff, and community volunteers for helping to make the evening so successful and enjoyable—Thank you to all!
