During spring break, a few members of the History Club were able to make the trip to Corinth, Mississippi, sight of the Union siege that lasted nearly a month in 1862. After touring the heritage museum, students and parents went to Shiloh National Battlefield near Savanna, Tennessee. Shiloh was one of the largest battles of the civil war at the time with nearly 24,000 casualties and 110,000 soldiers engaged. Students got to explore the battlefield, examine artifacts that were recovered from the battlefield in the visitor’s center, and even stick their foot in bloody pond.
