Sydney's FCCLA Legislative Job Shadow

On Wednesday, January 31st, I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Missouri FCCLA Legislative Job Shadowing Program. This program allows students to make connections and to see public policies and laws in relation to family. I had the opportunity to job shadow Representative Judy Morgan at our state capitol. This experience allowed me the opportunity to see how our Missouri government works. Representative Morgan did an excellent job of explaining the details her job entails on a daily basis. Representative Morgan also allowed me to follow her to session, where I was introduced on the floor, and I got to hear bills being discussed, debated, and voted on. I was also allowed to sit in on meetings and could ask questions about the bills she was going to discuss in session the next week. This was an amazing opportunity and I encourage all those who can apply for this program to apply! Thank you, MO FCCLA and Representative Judy Morgan, for the amazing opportunity.
